Enrichment
Writing is a process. Effective writers go through stages from the moment they come up with an idea for writing to the moment they publish the final product.
Even highly experienced writers go through these stages even though they may not be aware of it. That is because the process is a logical sequence of events.

A problem many novice and even intermediate writers often run into when they read this statement, “Writing is a process,” but the idea does not quite sink in. When they write something new, they jump right into it rather than engaging in the process from the start.
Other times, they skip over the steps in the writing process as if writing were a race. They believe they can get things done faster if they just start writing. It ends up taking longer because they fall into dead ends and have to rewrite entire paragraphs. They get frustrated because their writing is jerky. They end up producing low quality work.
Goals
In this course, you will learn how to use the writing process, which can be used to write a variety of products from short responses, emails, paragraphs, and reports to longer articles, essays, and research papers. You will see how the process is divided into several shorter steps, which will be standalone lessons themselves.
